Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve never played field hockey before. Can I still join?
Yes! We work with players of all levels. Our coaches specialize in teaching beginners.
Can I try before I commit?
Yes! Your first practice is free. Fill out the new player form and come ready to play.
I don’t have any equipment. What do I do?
For your first session, just bring sneakers, gym clothes, shinguards, and a mouthguard. Visit our Player Resources page for equipment recommendations, or email wcriptide@gmail.com with questions.
What’s the difference between field hockey and soccer shinguards?
Field hockey shinguards cover your ankles and entire shin up to your kneecap. Get hard shell shinguards, not soft padded ones.
Do I really need a mouthguard?
Yes. It’s required for every practice and game. Pick one up at Big 5 Sports, Dick’s Sporting Goods, or Amazon.
What size stick do I need?
If you’re 5’1″ or taller, get a 36-36.5 inch stick. See our Player Resources page for detailed sizing info.
Can I just wear sneakers?
Yes! Sneakers work great on our turf. Turf shoes are optional.
What age groups do you have?
U6-U19.
Do you offer individual training?
Yes, from 11 AM to noon. Email wcriptide@gmail.com to sign up.
Do I need to buy a pinny?
Yes. Add it during registration or email wcriptide@gmail.com with your size and payment info if you have issues.
Do you offer financial aid?
Email wcriptide@gmail.com. We offer financial assistance—cost should never prevent you from playing.
What if I have other questions?
